 Dr. Wendy Wootton has been recognized by her peers as being a Top Doctor in the field of Ophthalmology in Phoenix Magazine's 2009 and 2010 issues.

Wendy Wootton, M.D., joined Swagel Wootton Hiatt Eye Center, and began private practice in Mesa, AZ. in 1988. She attended Medical School at the University of California, San Francisco, and completed her residency at the Kern Medical Center, and an affiliate of the University of California, Los Angeles, in Bakersfield, California.

Dr. Wendy Wootton is a Fellow of the American College of surgeons, and a member of the American Medical Association, Member of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), the Phoenix Ophthalmological Society the Arizona Medical Association and the Arizona Ophthalmologic Society. Dr.Wootton has privileges at Mesa Lutheran Hospital, Desert Samaritan and Valley Lutheran, as well as the Arizona Eye Laser Centers, and the Eye Surgery Center of Arizona.

Dr. Wendy Wootton has volunteered her surgical expertise to Mission Cataract USA, providing free cataract surgery to dozens of underprivileged Arizonans.

A large part of Dr. Wootton's practice is Refractive Surgery. She believes in staying abreast of the latest advancements in technology. Dr. Wootton was one of the clinical investigators for the approval of Excimer laser by the FDA in 1994. Keeping abreast of all advances in her field, she has pursued further education with courses, training, and certification in R.K., ALK, PRK, CK, LASIK, and Refractive Lens Exchange. Dr. Wendy Wootton derives a lot of pleasure and excitement from the successful surgical outcome of her patients.
